Majid Bita
Born in 1985 in Iran, he studied graphic art and lived there until 2014, when he moved to Bologna to study painting and then comics at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Since 2006, he has worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for magazines and newspapers in Iran and, since 2015, he has participated in group exhibitions in Tehran, Isfahan, and Istanbul. These collaborations have allowed him to stay in touch with the Iranian art world, but unfortunately, due to the deteriorating political and social situation and censorship, these collaborations ended in 2018.
He currently lives in Bologna, where he works as a freelance illustrator and animator. He specializes in editorial illustration and storyboarding for films, music videos, and animated films related to various cinematographic, cultural and artistic initiatives.
In 2023, he published Nato in Iran, his debut graphic novel, which, as the title suggests, is a memoir intertwined with the country's turbulent history, in which Bita alternates autobiography and poetic surrealism.

DAS promuove una nuova serata dedicata alle sonorità e alle visioni contemporanee e invita, per questo primo appuntamento in occasione del festival, Maple Death e Canicola con l’anteprima di Opale: progetto triennale di musica, disegno e narrazione e una nuova collana con due uscite all’anno di vinili e albi disegnati.
