Phi Hotel

In the heart of Bologna, there’s a hotel that has become a sort of archive for the festival. Thanks to a collaboration between the festival and the hotel, many of the rooms at Phi Hotel Bologna have been "redecorated" and made unique by big names in comics and contemporary illustration.

On Sunday, November 23rd, the doors will be opened to the new room designed by Martina Lucidi, along with the others created for A occhi aperti and previous editions of BIlBOlbul.

Among the big names who have designed rooms are Alessandro Baronciani, Anna Deflorian, Alice Socal, Laurent Moreau, Maria Chiara di Giorgio, Kalina Muhova, Noemi Vola, and many other talented artists who have, over time, dedicated their drawings to the hotel which has so warmly welcomed them.

Martina Lucidi was born and raised in Casola Valsenio, a small village nestled in the hills and woods of the Romagna Apennines. She graduated in publishing illustration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and now lives and works here as an illustrator at the Officina Margherita studio.

Martina is the mind and hands behind the Naïve project, through which she offers artistic courses, holds workshops, and, above all, draws and creates stories. Her images inhabit the present but transcend time to embrace memories. She loves cinema, apples, and - ever so often - escaping into her woods.
