Andrea De Franco is a versatile author in the underground Italian landscape, and devotes his whole artistic production to researching a poetic balance between sound and picture.

In Tutto il corpo risuona, De Franco invites the viewer to observe the daily and mundane discourse that we entertain with space, be it empty or crowded. Starting from his last book, La caverna degli abbracci (Canicola Edizioni, 2024) he ventures into the depths of a narrative universe where the adventure happens in the mind, in the experience of a body whose sensibility erases the boundaries between inward and outward.

De Franco’s panels follow a movement that obeys the laws of physics regulating echoes and reverberations and, almost as if they were led by music, bodies fade in the space, explore the emptiness and inside of it they set new ways of relating with the outside world. It’s an experimentation that touches both the narrative and the formal aspects of the text, where drawing shifts into writing, and every single mark gains importance and depth. His operation is almost philosophical in nature, undoing the hierarchies between text and picture, and giving visual life to a landscape of sounds.
