Avere vent'anni

Avere vent’anni is the headline of the collective exhibition curated by the Comics and Illustration Course of Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna, featuring authors who - as teachers or students alike - experienced the Accademia spaces and activities through the years. It will thus be possible to discover the interpretation that various generations and professions have given to such a symbolic and concrete age while studying. Long-recognized national and international artists have enthusiastically responded: Andrea Bruno, Chiara Carrer, Onofrio Catacchio, Maja Celija, Sara Colaone, Gianluca Costantini, Otto Gabos, Adelchi Galloni, Alessandro Micheli, Octavia Monaco, Luigi Raffaelli, Sergio Ruzzier, Alessandro Sanna. Works by “Masters” will dialogue with pieces by the younger authors that have already established themselves as professionals both in Italy and overseas; among these, Bianca Bagnarelli, Iris Biasio, Flavia Biondi, Vincenzo Bizzarri, Davide Bonazzi, Federica Ferraro, Christian Galli, Hanieh Ghashghaei, Alessandro Pastore, Emma Lidia Squillari, Luisa Torchio.

Furthermore, twenty years is the very age of the Comics and Illustration Course: two decades have already passed since this adventure launched in Bologna, for the first time in our country. Starting as the only Course of its kind in Italy, this Degree has now gathered many fellow companions among various Accademie; yet, Bologna still keeps being a landmark for its fame gradually achieved thanks to the highly-qualified Professors, ever-evolving lectureship and, the wealth of a land of the likes of the Bolognaise area.

Both an evaluation and a reflection on the artistic path pursued up until now, along with hypothesis about future transformations, will be eventually published: curated by the Course Professors, the volume titled Vent’anni dopo. Fumetto e Illustrazione in Accademia will be released later this year by Pendragon Edizioni for ABABO - Teorie series.
