Resilienza Trans is an archive, a series of portraits of transgender bodies and of icons of the Queer Community. Elements of Chiron, mythological centaur and wounded healer, permeate the works here presented: bows, arrows, crowns, scars, hooves.
Jul Maroh creates a narrative that is able to open new fields of sensorial experience, political and organic. The artist lays bare the frailty and resilience of trans lives, so often pushed to the margins because of their own existence and the challenge they present upon the binary roles imposed by society, and in so doing explores the twilight zone between our personal lives and the collective, between individual desire and social expectations. Like in the practice of Japanese Kintsugi, the symbolic objective is to return dignity to such subjectivity, and mend the wounds with golden bandages.
