Bodies deprived of context, connected, weaved, joined, knotted in unexpected manners, creating a new visual logic. This is the journey between mysterious anatomies and perspective-less landscapes created by Martoz and Gloria Pizzilli, set in spaces that can be traversed despite the incoherent roads and the laws of physics-defying buildings.
Here the human body is explored not simply as an isolated shape, but instead as a structural element that fills the page in original and surprising ways, breaking conventional representation. Naked lines form bodies that become instruments of contact, bridges between the self and the other, as if each figure was a portal leading to an otherwise inaccessible dimension. Enigmatic and yet familiar shapes, that belong to subjects with which there can be dialogue in spite of their impossible existence.
Martoz and Pizzilli nimbly shift between traditional and digital media: the exhibit collects original panels and risograph prints, physical art as well as virtual, in order to represent a physical extension that goes far beyond the body, in a synonym of the creative act.
