The exhibition by B*MO (Bérénice Motais de Narbonne) and Dario Sostegni is not intended to be merely a comparison between artists worthy of attention in the contemporary art scene but rather the orchestration of a genuine dialogue between the two, resulting in specific and shared choices regarding installation and exhibition.
The aim is to highlight the impression of a widespread, yet diversified, imagery in a number of works by recent generations of artists who draw strength from the construction of alternative worlds, veritable universes—some natural, some metropolitan, some virtual—but always "adjacent worlds," simulations of lateral universes.
It could be called science fiction, if it did not run the risk of immediately conjuring up images of a futuristic era and missions with extensive technological deployment. Here, however, an everyday dimension and an organic nature prevail, continually metamorphic in its constant swallowing and digesting. Celestial spaces give way to a more accessible landscape, equally enigmatic in questioning who is truly in control: the landscape or us. The presence of young characters, of adolescents that must navigate the web of family relationships or voluntarily build alternative micro-communities on the margins of society, is yet another bridge between the two authors we present.
