Marijpol, also known as Marie Pohl, is an illustrator, comic artist, and designer who lives in Hamburg, Germany. A storyteller at heart, she works in various visual styles and narrative formats, aiming to create tension between the ordinary and the unusual by seeking out weirdness in beauty.
Her most recent graphic novel is Hort (Edition Moderne) a collective story that explores the themes of friendship, caregiving, and exceptional bodies.

In her latest graphic novel, Hort, Marijpol tells the story of an atypical family born out of an unexpected encounter between three queer women and their neighbors, a trio of kids living by themselves. A reflection on the idea of community and care that is also an exploration of desire in its wildest aspects.
