Jérôme Dubois

Jérôme Dubois is a cartoonist and illustrator. Born in Rueil-Malmaison in 1989, he graduated from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin. He made his debut in 2014 with Jimjilbang, followed in 2017 and 2018 by Tes yeux ont vu and Bien normal, all published by Cornélius. His stories are set in eerie universes that reflect some of the darkest aspects of our world. His latest work is the diptych Citéville/Citéruine: started as a series of zines published by Fidèle Éditions and "Nicole magazine" respectively, the two volumes describe the same city at two different moments in time. In Citéville, published by Cornélius, we observe the bizarre events of a crowd of characters moving through a world on the verge of collapse; in Citéruine, published by Éditions Matière, the same city appears completely uninhabited. The space between these two works creates a dizzying and alienating reading experience.
