Gabriella Giandelli
Gabriella Giandelli (1963) is one of Italy's leading illustrators and cartoonists. She has published in national and international magazines such as "Alter Alter," "Frigidaire," "Dolce Vita," "Strapazin," "Black," "L'echo des Savanes," "Frigobox," "Pelure amére," and "Beaux Arts." Some of her comic books are Silent Blanket (Granata press,1994 / Seuil, 2000 / Sinsentido, 2001), Hanno aspettato un po’ poi se ne sono andate (Mano edizioni, 1997 / Seuil, 1997), Sotto le foglie (Actes Sud, 2004 / Coconino press, 2008), Interiorae (Coconino press, 2010 / Actes Sud, 2010 / Fantagraphics, 2012). She created the children's character Milo, from which an animated series was made for Rai3 and La5 France. As an illustrator she has collaborated with dozens of newspapers, magazines and publishing houses both in Italy and abroad. She collaborates with "Internazionale" and illustrates the weekly literary reviews for "La Repubblica", one of the main newspapers in Italy. Her work has been exhibited in international festivals and galleries.

Drawing a house, a seemingly simple action, is a complex operation. The works of Lisa Mouchet and Gabriella Giandelli - two artists different in nationality, age and style - finds common ground precisely in the representation of interiors and all those spaces (inhabited or not) that act as repositories of human traces, memories and presences.
