While looking at Samuele Canestrari's work, one would think that nothing ever goes right in his stories. Everything seems to move in opposite directions at all time. This is the idea at the heart of this exhibition: life in contradiction is the only life possible.  This is how we live, Canestrari's work seems to tell us. We can dream of neat little houses and functional furniture, but it is only a fantasy because life is essentially friction. This awareness generates a reaction that is futile and energetic at the same time; this is precisely the main contradiction underneath Canestrari's work: a powerful vitality overwhelmed by a greater force.
